Geneva's Tech Revolution
Think your tech is cutting-edge? Geneva's latest innovation might change your mind.
Our CTO Lorenz Schmid had the privilege of meeting Boris, the visionary behind Infomaniak, who founded this fast-growing company 30 years ago.
Boris took him on a tour of his latest passion project: a cutting-edge data center in Geneva. Infomaniak is a well-known name in French-speaking Switzerland, and now the "ethical cloud" is gaining recognition in German-speaking Switzerland too.
What makes them stand out?
A passionate, steadily growing team of 240 employees.
️ An exemplary approach to data that not only complies with Swiss law but is also 100% GDPR-compliant.
Proprietary software solutions like kSuite and Swisstransfer, developed in their own Geneva workshops.
Data centers built and operated in Switzerland, serving both local and international customers.
Walking through the construction site, one thing became clear: Boris lives and breathes hardware. Every component, every innovation in this green data center bears his signature.
What's being built here?
☁️ A new region for the Infomaniak Public Cloud.
♻️ A data center where 100% of energy is recycled.
️ An innovative solution that uses server waste heat to heat 6,000 homes in a new neighborhood.
We're impressed by Infomaniak's vision and commitment — not just in technology, but in their contribution to a more sustainable world.
